Earning with blixel Videos #
For video products on the blixel Marketplace, pricing is determined by you, the blixel Creator.
A video’s purchase price (sale price) is made up of 4 parts:
Video Product Price + Buyer Fee = Purchase Price
- Purchase Price: The price the customer pays for the video product (minus any applicable sales tax). The price is also listed on the individual video’s product page. The purchase price consists of the video product price plus the buyer fee.
- Video Product Price: The price the creator charges for the video product and its license. blixel has two license types: standard license and extended license.
- Buyer fee: The portion of the Purchase Price that represents blixel’s fee to the customer. This is a fixed fee of $1.50.
- Creator Commission: A portion (%) of the Video Product Price that represents blixel’s payment to the creator.
blixel pays Creators a “Creator Commission” on their Video Product Price when it sells. This commission is between 40-80%, depending on how many Videos you sell- the more you sell, the higher your commission. Thus, high-performing creators are rewarded with more earnings.
You get the rest (before taxes). See Creator Commission Schedule (below) for more information.
For example:
Aliyah, a blixel Creator, is selling an amazing 1-minute stock video of an elderly Black couple cooking dinner with their grandkids. blixel’s fixed Buyer Fee is $1.50. The remainder of the total Purchase Price is the creator’s Video Product Price, a portion of which blixel pays to the creator as a Creator Commission. Then, let’s assume that the Creator Commission is 80%
Here’s how different price decisions will look:
- Creator sets the Product Price at $1, it’ll be listed at $2.50, creator earnings will be 80% x $1 = $0.80
- Creator sets the Product Price at $4, it’ll be listed at $5.50, creator earnings will be 80% x $4 = $3.20
- Creator sets the Product Price at $9, it’ll be listed at $10.50, creator earnings will be 80% x $9 = $7.20
For the full list of Creator Commissions, so you know exactly how much you will earn on a Product Price, see the Creator Commission Schedule below.

Earning with blixel Images + blixel Illustrations #
blixel Images + blixel Illustrations earnings work differently than the traditional stock media, commission-based model. As images/photographs and illustrations on blixel are free to the end-user, blixel creators that upload images, photographs, and illustrations earn money through advertisement revenue generated from the site.
With this model, blixel creator earnings are directly linked to the total amount of advertisement revenue that blixel generates each month. As we grow, your earnings increase.
blixel shares 50% of all net advertisement revenue with its creators. Each blixel creator receives a portion of that revenue based on how many downloads they received during a given month. The more users that download your Images + illustrations, the more you will earn.
For example:
Let’s say that blixel received three million USD in net advertisement revenue during the month of August. blixel then shares 50% of that revenue (1.5 million USD) with all blixel Creators that upload images + illustrations to the site. In that month, blixel users downloaded 50,000 Images + Illustrations from the site.
So, how do we calculate an individual blixel Creator’s earnings?
Let’s say, blixel Creator- Gabriela, had users download her Images 100 times, which is .002 of the total downloads (100 Images/50,000 Images + Illustrations = .002). So, her earnings will be .002 of 1.5 million USD, which is 3,000 USD.
The earnings formula is below:
(Total blixel net advertisement revenue/2) * (blixel creator’s number of Images downloaded/ total number of Images + Illustrations downloaded on the blixel site)= monthly earning amount
(1,500,000 USD) * (100 Images/50,000 Images) = 3,000 USD
